The consulting office at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, is strengthening its cooperation with oil companies to analyze soil and water samples and oil pollution.

The office is implementing several contracts with oil companies and subcontractors operating in Basra Governorate to conduct scientific tests and analyses of soil, water, and oil pollution samples.

This collaboration aligns with the office's commitment to applying academic expertise to serve the productive and environmental sectors by providing accurate and certified analyses according to international standards. These analyses contribute to assessing soil and water quality and monitoring pollution levels in oil and industrial environments.

The Dean of the College of Agriculture emphasized that these activities represent a distinguished model of integration between the university and the industrial sector. He noted that the college's central soil and water laboratory possesses specialized scientific staff and advanced equipment that enables the execution of physical, chemical, and biological analyses with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

He added that the college is continuously developing its laboratory capabilities and expanding its research and consulting services to support sustainable development efforts and environmental protection in Basra Governorate.
